黄心惠:《情态动词can的常见用法》教学设计

教学目标:
1.  理解情态动词can的含义。
2.  能够掌握情态动词can的三种句型结构:肯定、否定、一般疑问句。
3.  能够运用以上句型描述自己的能力和询问他人是否具备某种能力。
教学重点:
情态动词can的三种句型结构
教学难点:
情态动词can的一般疑问句
教学步骤:
Step 1: Warm-up/ Lead-in
Step 2: Presentation and practice
Show our students a video about some usages of modal word, can.
1.  Present the sentence pattern “Subject + can + V.(original form)…”.
2.  Present the sentence pattern “Subject + can +not+ V.(original form)…”.
3.  Present the sentence pattern “Can+subject+V.(original form)…?”.
4.  Let’s chant to help students remember the common usages of can.
Step 3: Consolidation
1.  Do some practice about step 4, part 1 in task list. 
2.  Check the answers.
3.  Use the three sentence patterns to talk with the desk mates. 
Step 4: Summary
To sum up the knowledge in this lesson: three sentence patterns about can.
Step 5: Homework
Use the sentence pattern to tell me what can your friend do?
