Part B Let’s learn &Let’s do

Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim:
1.Students will master the new words,such as“elephant,monkey,bird,tiger,panda,zoo”.
2.Students will understand the new phrase“act like”.
Ability aim:Students will act like animals and do actions according to commands correctly.
Emotion aim:Students will develop their love for animals.
Key and difficult points
Students can recognize and read the new words,especially the spelling of the word “elephant”.
Teaching steps
Step1 Warm up
Good morning,everyone!
How is the weather today and what day is it today?
Step 2 Lead in
(1)Exploration game
Show a picture about the zoo to students and ask them whether they want to go to the zoo.Before going to the zoo, students must answer some questions to move away the rocks on the way.
What is this animal? Let’s guess!
①Act like a bear.②Make the sound like a dog.
③This animal is yellow.
④Make the sound like a cat.
⑤This animal is pink.
There is still one question,what animal is it?      It’s a panda.
T:You’re very clever. Do you want to see more animals?Let’s go to the zoo, OK?
Step 3 Presentation
New words:We are going to see some animals.
1. Listen,did you hear strange sound?What’s that animal?
It’s a tiger. Read and spell this word.The tiger has a big mouth. Can you act like a tiger?
2.What animal can we see next?Let’s watch the video.What’s that animal?
It’s an elephant.Read and spell this word.The elephant has a long nose. Can you act like an elephant?
3.What’s the third animal ?What’s that ?
It’s a bird.Read and spell this word.The bird can fly. Can you act like a bird?
4.What animal comes next?Let’s watch a video.What’s that animal?
It’s a panda.Read and spell this word.The panda has black eyes.Can you act like a panda?
5.We are going to see the last animal. Let’s watch a video.What’s that animal?
It’s a monkey.Read and spell this word.The monkey is very naughty. Can you act like a monkey?
Invite several students to make a conversation and ask students to make a conversation like this with their partners.Invite several pairs to present.
Show the pictures of let’s play and ask students what animals they act?Teacher will say the commands and each group should act like that animal.
Ask students to act and say the sentence “Act like ....”
Step 4 Practice
1. Bomb activity:Review all the words in U4 first.Students should read the words that the teacher points at. But when the teacher points at the bomb ,students should hide themselves with hands.
2. Quiz-quiz-trade:Read and explain the rules of this activity.Give students three minutes to do this activity.
Step 5 Production
Ask students the color of each new animal.Invite some students to come to the front and choose one animal and introduce its name and color. Give students comments and encouragement.
Step 6 Summary
Guide students to summarize what they have learned today.Use phonics to help students to review words.Teach students to love and protect animals because they are our friends.
Step 7 Homework
1 Write each new word four times.
2 Read the page 42 on textbook.
3 Draw an animal ,introduce it ,take a video and send it to Miss Dai.
